Double hit of confidence as gap narrows

-

SCOTT Wiseman has issued a warning to teams in the lower reaches of League One – don’t write off Rochdale.

Keith Hill’s side collected another point against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday to reduce the gap between themselves and the safety zone. And with games in hand, Wiseman – on loan from Chesterfield for the rest of the season – reckons Dale’s rivals will be twitching.

The point against the Dons – themselves in danger of the drop into League Two – made it two wins and two draws from their last four games.

“It means so much more when we do get points and we are narrowing the gap on the teams above us and we know that we still have games in hand on them - it’s like a double hit of confidence as we know we still have to play the team around us or play games in midweek when they are not playing,” said Wiseman. “A lot of teams are drawing games or losing and they are not creating chances – the fact is that we’re creating not just one or two chances, it’s literally dozens!

“It’s frightening the amount of chances we’re creating and we could have really put Wimbledon to the sword.

“It was a great performance and the boys couldn’t have done any more other than put the ball in the back of the net. It’s another draw, another game where we have not lost so that’s four on the spin now and it’s fantastic to keep the run going.”
