Karting ace Seb’s the wheel deal

-

AT just six years old Seb Moore from Newhey Rochdale is taking the karting world by storm.

Seb, who attends Newhey Primary School, has only been karting for five months but has demonstrated natural ability when it comes to four wheels.

Following a family holiday to Spain in September he tried his hand at the local kart track on the hire karts. He instantly became hooked and the journey began. On returning Seb attended Team Karting in Rochdale where he began to learn the art of karting.

Since then Seb now has his own kart and has started racing outdoors at regional events. He has had three races so far and finished a fantastic second in his debut race at the BKC Comer Winter Cup. He also now lies in second in the Championship in the Hooton Park Race series.

After just five months Seb now is stepping up a level and is entered into 2018 BKC British National Championship where he will race the best of the best over 10 rounds which will see him race all over the country and also Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The Rochdale youngster has turned a few heads in the karting world including the town’s own Team Karting, who became Seb’s first sponsor. He is able to practice mid week at the tarmac track which is fantastic preparation for the race events.

A Team Karting spokesman said: “It’s our mission to make motorsport more acceptable and affordable for talented young drivers who have the passion and desire to compete in the sport.

“So helping Seb progress from one of his first karting experience to now a national karting championship brings us all at TeamKarting great pride.

“From the vast amount of improvement and development Seb has made over the past few months we have no doubt he will be very successful.”
