Festival line-up has 90s Britpop heroes

-

BRITPOP heroes Cast have been added to the line-up for this summer’s Rochdale Feel Good Festival.

Fronted by John Power, the band will play the main stage outside the town hall on Saturday, August 18.

The Liverpool band were big in the 1990s with hits Finetime and Alright and three top 10 albums.

In 2015 the lads celebrated the 20th anniversary of their debut All Change album with sold out shows at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.

Last year they released their latest album Kicking Up The Dust and completed a sell-out UK tour as special guests to Shed Seven.

Cast will join previouslyannounced headliners Feeder at Feel Good Festival.

The free event, now in its 11th year, promises another showcase of top class entertainment, food and culture.

There will also be live music across a number of indoor venues, a food and drink court plus lots of entertainment and activities for all the family around the town hall square.

Coun Janet Emsley cabinet member for neighbourhoods, community and culture, said: “The first two acts on our main stage line-up are amazing and we will be announcing more in the coming weeks. 2018 is going to be another year to remember.”

Ben Boothman, owner of main stage sponsor The Flying Horse Hotel, said: “There’s already a lot of early excitement around the festival and I think to have Cast confirmed for the main stage will only add to this.

“We’re going to be treated to some classic Britpop from Cast and there are tracks on their latest album that are every bit as good as those they put out in the mid 90s. It’s easy to see what Noel Gallagher meant when he once described seeing Cast as a religious experience.”
