Brides on catwalk for show’s return

-

CATWALK glamour returned to town this weekend when Rochdale Wedding Show was staged on Sunday.

Hundreds of brides and grooms-to-be visited the town hall with their friends and families for the annual event, looking for inspiration for their perfect day.

More than 580 people went through the doors and 40 companies exhibited the latest trends in bridalwear, formal menswear and everything else needed for the big day.

The day featured two catwalk shows as Lavina Rose Bridal Boutique and Denis Hope modelled a range of bridal, occasion and menswear.

Outside a collection of classic and contemporary wedding cars were on show.

Visitors also got the chance to see the town’s register office, the ceremony room, enjoy prosecco and cake in the Clock Tower Dining Room and admire the town hall.

Local business experts provided a showcase of everything you would need for the big day, from stunning dresses and flowers, to classic cars, photography, venue dressing, catering, cakes, entertainment, jewellery, decorations and much more.

Sue Milne, events manager at Rochdale council said: “The show was very busy all day and the town hall looked amazing. There are some amazing businesses in the borough and one of our objectives for the Show is to encourage people to shop locally for their big day.

“Exhibitors reported a very good level of follow up leads and orders taken, so we are pleased that it has been another really good day for local companies.”

Rochdale Wedding Show will return to the town hall in 2019.
