AFAMILY won a visit to the RSPCA in Rochdale thanks to Middleton Shopping Centre.

Louise Partridge, her daughter Lexie, age 6 and son, Zack, age 3, were one of the winning families who were picked at random to win.

As part of its sponsorship of a pod at the RSPCA Rochdale and District Branch, the centre was able to offer lucky families the prize.

Shoppers were asked to post a picture of their pets and ‘like’ the Middleton Shopping Centre’s Facebook page to be eligible to win.

Lynette Howgate, the manager of the Middleton Shopping Centre, said: “We were thrilled that Louise, Lexie and Zack were able to join us.

“We met a number of the residents (Clive the dog and Rufus the three- legged cat) and Lexie and Zack were allowed to feed the rabbits, stroke the hamsters and walk, around the cattery.”

While on the tour at the branch, Lexie and Zack were given a quiz to complete, with Lexie getting the best score and winning some RSPCA gifts.

Lynette added: “We feel that the work the RSPCA does is very important.

“You hear so many reports about animals being treated badly and we hope that our sponsorship goes some way into helping the charity continue with the fantastic work they do – both in the prevention of animal cruelty and looking after animals that have been victims to cruelty.

We hope, this sponsorship helps give animals a voice.”
