Rehman keeps up winning record
BILAL Rehman continued the perfect start to his professional career as he defeated Edvinas Puplauskas on Saturday.
The Rochdale boxer was dominant throughout against Puplauskas and won 60-55 on points after six rounds to pick up the win at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
It had been a frustrating couple of weeks for Rehman after his original opponent Ryan Mulcahy pulled out of their planned Central Area title fight due to injury.
Thankfully, a replacement opponent was found, and Rehman is now looking ahead to big things in the future after his successful performance.
“I made it 11-0 and now it’s onto the next one. There were a lot of ups and downs during the past 12 weeks but we are soldiers,” he said.
“We keep going. Thank you to everyone for the love and support and I hope you enjoyed the fight.”
Rehman’s victory came on the undercard of Amir Khan’s 39 seconds destruction of Phil Lo Greco in the main event, and Khan now wants to win another world title.
“It would be nice to win another world title. It would be an amazing thing to do. I feel better now at 31 than I did when I was 28.
“I feel sharper and much more intelligent in the boxing ring. I am using the speed the right way now,” he said.
“Before I used to throw a combination from far away, I used to get caught from in-between but now I am much smarter.”
