TODMORDEN Angling Society’s next match takes place this Sunday, May 27th at Croft. Ring Graham 07794 498051 to book on.

The following two trophy matches (on June 3rd and June 17th) are to be fished on Portsmouth Reservoir.

The Tuesday night matches start on June 5th at Croft and there is a ‘knock up’ before then on Tuesday May 29th.

There is a Family Fun Day/Taster Day at Ramsden Wood Fishery this coming Sunday May 27th. 10am, until 3pm. No Charge. All tackle & bait supplied-just come along and try fishing.

Last Sunday’s Rochdale Canal open Match was fished by 13 anglers on Dead Length of Rochdale Canal. Nice weather! Result. 1. Paul Wilkinson 9lb 4oz (TAS) One Carp Method Feeder/boilie 2. Kenny Wright (Skipton) 7lb Two Carp plus one Bream Method/corn 3. Ste Ballon (Ashton Bros) 4lb 6oz 3 Carp Method/Corn Section Winner Denis Hill (Ashton Bros) 3lb 4oz Section Winner Shaun (Padden Tricast) 3lb 13oz.

Loads of small to medium size Roach on small baits-Punched Bread, Pinkies, Squatts. Worm and Caster or corn for the better fish (odd Carp).

Grove Lodge, Littleboro­ugh

Lots of Carp/Rudd/ Bream and Tench to a variety of baits -pole/ maggot, Method feeder/pellet or pop ups. Day Tickets in advance only from local tackle shops. Cliviger Fishponds. Carp feeding in the warmer weather -with lots being caught(up to 40 to one angler) . Bream, Ide & Tench also showing. Pole and maggot or maggot with a feeder seem to work best. Day tickets in advance only -from local tackle shops or Monarch Garage, Walk Mill.
