Remarkable introduction to my new book

-

WELL it seems like Bay Tree Books in Glossop, and even Waterstones in Manchester have had many readers crossing the threshold to enquire about my book, The Crowden Years Volume 1. SO I thought an update was in order, and I think you will agree, the delay was quite in order when you consider that Dame Vivienne Westwood loves the book and has written the most amazing Introduction for me.

Even more remarkable is that she has spent so much time on my behalf at the same time as getting her Spring Collection ready for the Paris Fashion Show and the small matter of the release of a film about her life.

Dame Vivienne was born and loved in Tintwistle and with Crowden being only four miles up the road, she has demonstrated a deep affinity for, not only my stories, but with the place itself, and she talks of sitting on the dewcovered grass in Cooper’s field listening to the skylarks, and she very evocatively describes how, as winter approached, she would wait for the Snow Queen from Woodhead.

Here she is in her words... I should be ever so lucky, and as for the book, look out for some exciting launch parties towards the end of June and reserve a signed copy by emailing sean.wood@ talk21.com.

‘Dear Sean, I will talk about me so as to link with you and your world during the Crowden Years. I’m near a generation older than you. Go back in Time –
