‘We’re doing lots to boost town – get the message?’

THIS is Rochdale Council’s incredible response to claims the town has ‘no heritage’ and ‘no prospects’.

And at 24-tweets-long, it certainly shows the town hall’s feelings towards the point of view.

The whole thing appears to have been sparked by the news that Wilkos will be closing its doors in Rochdale.

Paul Murtough told the council on Twitter that ‘businesses were being driven out faster than the queues at McDonalds drive-thru’.

He said the town had no heritage, no prospects, and asked the council what they were going to do about it.

The response is quite long (possibly a little too long), but either way we will keep this bit short and leave you to enjoy...
