A GRANT of £7,000 has been awarded to Todmorden Angling Society by the Crook Hill Community Benefit Fund. It will enable the Society to vastly improve the accessabil­ity of facilities at Croft and Town House Fisheries.

Access will be improved to both waters and all fishing platforms will be replaced by recycled plastic platforms including two disabled and one ‘Parent and Child’ on each water.

The local Angling Community are very grateful for this grant and wish to thank all concerned.

‘Taster’ sessions/ Family Fun Days will be held at our Ramsden Wood Fishery on Sundays July 8th and 22nd. Just come along -all fishing tackle ,bait and coaching is free. Bring your own tackle if you wish – 10am until 3pm.

The first trophy match ever to be fished on Portsmouth Reservoir was a really good match. Result: 1. Mick Clegg 76lb Peg20 Feeder/pellet or corn-Carp; 2. John Mellor 62lb 8oz Peg19 Feeder/ Pellet or corn Carp; 3. Paul Wilkinson 49lb 4oz Peg9 Pellet Waggler F1’s plus good Carp; 4. Steve Hall 40lb Peg1 Pellet Waggler Good Carp; 5. Steve Buckley 36lb 2oz Peg12 Short Pole /Pellet Good Carp.

The trophy match on Sunday June 24th is an ‘awayday’ to Lindholme Lakes at Doncaster (Loco Lake).
