Fire firm saves 111 jobs with takeover

AGREATER Manchester fire protection firm has helped to save a hundred jobs after taking over a rival.

Rochdale-based A&F Sprinklers continues to grow with the acquisitio­n of Hall Fire Protection from administra­tion.

The sale secures the future of 111 employees and its Greater Manchester site and strengthen­s the profile of the A&F Sprinklers group of businesses.

A&F Sprinklers supplies high profile retailers, commercial and residentia­l sectors, as well as distributi­on and constructi­on industries.

The Worsely site will now operate as A&F Sprinkler Services Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary, with A&F Sprinklers managing director Mark Stansfield presiding over both companies.

He said: “This is a significan­t step in our growth strategy within the UK fire protection industry. The services offered by this new company are highly complement­ary to our strong core business.

“The seamless transfer of business to A&F Sprinklers Services Ltd consolidat­es our leading brand position, protects skills, creates a solid platform for future developmen­t and provides enhanced fire protection services which ultimately save lives, property and the environmen­t.”

With an expanded customer base and further growth anticipate­d, the business aims to create up to 15 new positions in the next year.
