Miskella’s batting back up in short supply

-

FOR the second week running Ryan Miskella’s heroics went unrewarded as Littleborough went down by eight wickets at a sun drenched Nelson.

He smashed 90 not out off just 63 balls with (9x4 and 6x6) but Nelson got home easy with more than nine overs to spare. The visitor’s batting let them down again for the umpteenth time this season.

Littleborough won the toss and had no hesitation in deciding to bat.

Pye was first to perish for four caught by Hendricks off the bowling of Grant.

He was followed by Kaber bowled by Grant for a 17 ball duck to leave the visitors 9-2.

This became 15-3 when Smith Butler fell for 1.

Hernon (6) and Willis (3) both fell lbw to Hendricks and Heap respectively and Littleborough were in all sorts of trouble at 61-5 and the returning Perren was watching all this at the other end and had made 46 out the 61.

He was joined by Miskella and they set about repairing the innings and they did just that with a stand of 132.

Perren deserved a century but fell for 95 off 146 balls to Thompson in an innings that included 13 fours.

It was great to see him back playing again.

Miskella smashed 23 off one over and the innings closed on 213-6 with Nash on one not out.

At least the visitors now had something to bowl at and Miskella gave the visitors real hope when he picked up the first 2 wickets to fall to leave the home side 31-2.

First to go was Bradley caught at the wicket by Hernon and then Perren caught a spectacular one handed catch diving full length to dismiss Pettinger for one but that was all the success the visitors got as they toiled in the sun.
