Dale primed to continue push for top

ROCHDALE head into this afternoon’s home clash against Rawtenstal­l as favourites and will be looking to strengthen their hand near the top of the Lancashire League.

Rawtenstal­l are in 20th place, and it will be a tough game against a Rochdale side in sixth position.

Two struggling sides meet at Hare Hill this weekend. Rishton will look to build on their win over Burnley when they are away from home against Littleboro­ugh. Rishton are joint-third from bottom in the table alongside Littleboro­ugh, with both teams having two wins from their 11 games.

Milnrow go to Great Harwood’s Cliffe Park. Great Harwood are in 15th place heading into the game, while Milnrow are in 21st.

Norden will fancy their chances of ending their poor run of form when they play host to bottom of the table Bacup at Woodhouse Lane.

Bragging rights will be on the line in the Lancashire League this weekend when Accrington host neighbours Church at Thorneyhol­me Road.

Accrington are ninth in the table after six wins from 11 matches, but could leapfrog seventh placed Church if they pick up a victory this weekend.

Enfield are on their travels as they head to Alexandra Meadows to face East Lancashire. Enfield are 16th in the table after three wins from their 11 matches, with East Lancs three places below them in 19th.

Ramsbottom will look to keep up their great start to the Lancashire League season when they make the trip to Clitheroe.

Ramsbottom are second in the table with 10 wins from their 11 games so far this season, while Clitheroe are in 11th place.

Haslingden have a home game to contend with as they take on Middleton. Haslingden are in 14th place with four wins from their 11 matches, while Middleton are in 18th position.
