HOLLYOAKS actress and super fit powerlift champion Jazmine Franks visited a Rochdale-based lo-carb company.

The 26-year-old soap star, who played Esther Bloom in Hollyoaks until April this year, visited LoDough in Sparth to taste low carb pizza and quiche which she wants to use as part of her fitness regime.

Lo-Dough is a start-up company which makes a bread which is virtually carb free.

Aimed at the slimming and fitness markets the firm already has 50,000 customers in its first year of operation.

Jazmine said: “It was great to spend the afternoon at Lo-Dough HQ, eating yummy low carb pizza and sugar free brownies. Thanks to the team for having me, I can’t wait to wear my apron and pick a recipe from the website to try at home.”

Luke Anthony showed Jazmine around the LoDough factory before leading her to the kitchen for a taster session. He said: “It was great to have Jazmine at Lo-Dough, not just because she’s a recognised face but because she’s really into her fitness and can see the benefit of it for her training. She’s done amazingly well with her powerlifting and I’m sure she’s going to be even more successful with it in the future. Hopefully she liked the Lo-Dough pizzas, quiche and brownies as much as we do.”

Company founders Rob Wales and Ben Holden now run a successful operation in Rochdale, with over 30 members of staff and hundreds of LoDough packages sent out each day.

Lo-Dough has recently become the first ever company to be awarded the “reduced carb” claim by Sugarwise, meaning it’s now an officially recognised low carb product.
