Bottom sides to do battle

THE Lancashire League returns this weekend, with bragging rights on the line between local rivals LITTLEBORO­UGH and MILNROW.

Both teams have struggled so far this season, with Littleboro­ugh bottom of the table with two wins from their 13 games. Milnrow are just one place and one point above them, so both sides will be desperate to try and pick up a victory.

ROCHDALE having a home game against one of their nearby neighbours as they take on Middleton at Redbrook. Rochdale are in eighth place in the table after eight wins from 13 games, with Middleton in 17th position.

NORDEN are on their travels as they head to Chatburn Road to take on Clitheroe. Norden are in seventh position, while Clitheroe are in 12th place.

Elsewhere, Ramsbottom have an away game to contend with as they make the trip to the Horsfield to take on Colne.

Ramsbottom have made a good start to the season and are in third place after winning 11 of their 13 games so far, while Colne have found things tough and find themselves in 19th place.

Rawtenstal­l are at home as they welcome Church to the Worswick Memorial Ground. It will be a tough game as Church are in fifth place, compared to Rawtenstal­l who are in 18th position after three wins from 13 games.

Bacup are away from home as they head to Alexandra Meadows to go up against East Lancashire. The two teams are next to each other in the league, with Bacup in 21st and East Lancs in 22nd.

Haslingden are at home as the team faces off against Darwen at Bentgate. Darwen have had a good start to the campaign, with nine wins putting them in fourth place. Haslingden are in 15th, with five wins from their 13 matches.
