Dalians hit six to move top of table

THE first round of the Cheshire Amateur Cup saw a big exit for L and C teams but Premier division high-fliers High Lane bucked the trend as a comfortabl­e 7-2 victory over Altrincham Hale saw cruise into round two.

Elsewhere there were defeats for Mellor by 1-4 hosting Ellesmere Town, Stoconians by 2-7 against Newton Chester and Dukinfield Athletic by 5-0 to Lostock Gralam.

Premier division action saw Rochdalian­s again looking impressive as they gave Waterloo an insight into their debut season in the division with a comfortabl­e 6-3 win moving them to the top of the table.
