Boro take road to Tameside

-

LITTLEBOROUGH RUFC go in search of their second away win of the ADM Premier Division season this afternoon when they make the relatively short trip to Tameside to face Aldwinians.

Boro picked up an opening day victory at Tyldesley and head into the game in sixth spot having been beaten last weekend on home turf against Trafford.

Aldwinians’ opening two fixtures have both been away from home – they lost at Trafford on the opening day of the campaign and were narrowly edged out, 25-22, at Didsbury Toc H last weekend.

So, while they sit bottom of the pile ahead of today’s game, Boro will not read too much into that.

Boro’s 2nd XV are also in action at Aldwinians, facing the club’s second team in the Halbro North West League Division Two.

Having suffered losses in their opening two fixtures against Bolton and Keswick, Boro’s seconds hit back last weekend with a win at home against West Park (St Helens) and will be looking to build on that. Today’s opponents are something of an unknown quantity having only played once so far – that game ended in an 88-0 victory on home turf, so Boro will have to be on their mettle today.

The thirds are at home against Trafford while tomorrow sees the Junior under 17s Colts entertain Newcastle.

The Pink Warriors Ladies are expected to have a game arranged.
