Nursery celebrates top rating
STAFF at a nursery and daycare centre are celebrating after being rated as ‘outstanding’ by government inspectors.
Seeros Central Daycare on Church Stile in Rochdale received top marks from OFSTED in a report published this month, after an inspection that took place in June.
The daycare provider have another site, on Belfield Road, which also received an ‘outstanding’ grade earlier in the year.
Inspector Kaela Francioli heaped praise on the nursery’s staff in her report.
She said: “The manager and her well-qualified and experienced team are dedicated and ambitious. Staff have access to excellent training and the supervision they receive from their manager is exceptional. They strive for excellence and constantly refine the provision.
“Staff create a warm, welcoming and secure environment. Children settle quickly into play. Staff provide imaginative and exciting activities that motivate and engage.”
Ms Francioli also praised the quality of teaching. She added: “Staff make excellent use of assessments of children’s progress to plan effectively. Opportunities for children to enrich their conversational language are in abundance. Staff work extremely well to enhance children’s understanding.
“Staff value children as unique individuals. Staff use their excellent knowledge of each child extremely effectively to extend their learning opportunities and adapt activities accordingly.”
Inspectors gave bosses advice on only one area where they thought improvements could be made.
The report said: “To further improve the quality of the early years provision the provider should implement the proposed plans to develop even further the outdoor area and monitor the impact that this has on the excellent learning opportunities children already experience.”
Samira Ansari, Seeros’ managing director said she and her staff were ‘absolutely delighted’ with the report
She said: “We’ve done exceptionally well and we have a really good team. The staff are absolutely delighted. It’s about working together with the same ethos, and understanding the needs of all the children - trying to be inclusive of all.”
