Merry and bright

IN our weekly Time-Trip feature, we take a look back at events happening in Rochdale in years gone by.

Each week we will showcase a selection of pictures taken by Rochdale Observer photographers.

This month we remember Rochdale’s festive celebrations over the years.

Our first picture of the week (above) is a shot from the 2005 Rochdale Town Centre Christmas light switch on.

Pictured are Carra King, 11, and Rebecca Farrand, nine, of the Unicorns of Skylight Circus.

Next (top right) we have Karen Clegg and Chris Rees dropping toys for the Christmas toy appeal at Asda, Rochdale in 2005.

Our middle right picture is of Joe Hopkins inside his festively decorated home in Rochdale back in 2014.

Next (bottom right) is a picture of Beryl Gould of the Village Deli at Rochdale’s Christmas Market on The Butts in 2009.
