Dale’s dance party is to mark its fifth birthday

-

A dance party which started out as a one-off fundraiser for Rochdale AFC is set to celebrate its fifth anniversary.

The first ever Shout! Motown and 60s Night was hosted in February 2014 at Dale’s Crown Oil Arena (Spotland) by DJs Dave Sweetmore and Nick Robinson.

Later this month, Dave and Nick will celebrate the night’s fifth anniversary at the Ratcliffe Bars.

Remembering their first gig, Dave said: “The night was a huge success, sold out, and since then purely by demand, we have held three of these events a year, plus we took the night by request up to the Lake District and sold out a village hall up there.

“We get a great mixture of age groups there, lots of people local to the area come, and also people from far and wide and all over the UK, we’ve had people from Scotland and Wales come before now.

“The nights have become known as quite legendary nights for playing Motown and 60s music, and as well as bringing in great revenue for Rochdale AFC, also give the people of Rochdale and surrounding areas something a little bit different in a safe and friendly environment.”

Tickets for the event on Saturday, February 16 are £6, available from the Ratcliffe Bars, the Rochdale AFC Club Shop, Cuppaccino Bistro, Littleborough, call 01706 646851 or visit ticketline. co.uk. Doors on the night open at 7pm, and it’s over-21s only.
