Stags led to Lowerhouse win by Aslam

-

DEPUTY professional Sami Aslam smacked a century to help Norden to victory over Lowerhouse at Stag Park on Sunday.

Norden suffered early blows with the loss of Said Bhojani and Harvey Fitton.

But Aslam and Josh Tolley then put bowlers to the sword.

By the time Tolley was out for 61, off 90 deliveries, Stags had reached 136.

Greg Butterworth was caught first ball by John Whitehead, but the runs continued to flow from Aslam.

Lee Crabtree and Steve Pimm got into the teens before skipper Hashum Malik blasted 21 off 11 deliveries.

Aslam finally fell with 250 on the board. His knock included 10 fours and five sixes.

Without usual opening bowlers Jake Sandham and Chris Humphreys Stags looked up against it as Lowerhouse soared to 78 before Whitehead was trapped leg before by Aslam.

Heap and Ockert Erasmus took the total up to 132 before the former was leg before to Harvey Fitton, and four runs later Fitton had barlow caught behind by Lee Crabtree.

Charlie Cottam and Bleazard were both bowled by Aslam to make it 164 for five.

Erasmus was still in and dangerous, but with Lowerhouse still needing 61 to win he was bowled by Malik.

Hawke was stumped by Crabtree off Greg Butterworth’s bowling, and that was virtually that with Lowerhouse running out of overs on 214 for seven.
