AFUNDRAISER for a little boy suffering from incurable cancer has raised over £8,000, with the online page hitting over £3,000.

Mason Scott, six, from Rochdale, was diagnosed with incurable stage four neuroblastoma earlier this year, and family and friends are now raising cash to make special memories with Mason, who is non-verbal and autistic.

Mum Becky Scott, 29, knew something was wrong, but Mason wasn’t diagnosed until he had a full body scan in January, which revealed the devastating news.

It was discovered that Mason has tumours in his head, skeleton, and in between his stomach cavity and spine.

Now, people are showing their support to allow Mason and his family to make special memories without worrying about money.

A family fun day was held at Mayfield Rugby Club in Castleton, where

£8,000 was raised.

Becky said: “It was a really good day and everybody had lots of fun.

“The kids really enjoyed it, and lots of people turned up - it was really nice.

“Mason is doing alright at the moment - he’s staying as well as he can be.”

Due to Mason’s autism, he spent the day with his grandma, as it would have been too overwhelming for him.

Becky’s best friend, Aimee Lloyd, who has her own little girl, helped to organise the day.

She said: “All round it was a fabulous day. We had an amazing turnout, and people’s generosity was overwhelming.

“We had a raffle ran by some of my family who sat there all day manning it, and we had a tombola stall put on and done by Emma and Stacey from Morrison’s Rochdale, who have been a fabulous help.

“We had a band on called Smudge, and a children’s Peppa Pig activity session with Lauren Taylor.”

Mascots dressed as Minions, Peter Rabbit, Paw Patrol, Mickey Mouse and Princess Poppy from Trolls were also in attendance, alongside a 12-year-old DJ, and Nicola O’Reilly doing face painting.

A bouncy castle was also in place.

Organisers were Michael Bradshaw, Aimee Lloyd, Rebekah Hollyhead, Sarah Taylor, Michaela Marshall, Hayley Connolly, and Dani Merkin. The family are also selling blue bracelets with a small crown charm attached, for Mason, as King Mason has become his nickname.
