Commercial champs honoured on big night
ALMOST 300 people attended the annual Rochdale Business Awards which recognised the achievements of some of the industry’s finest.
Held in Rochdale Town Hall on Friday, November 8, it was the ninth time the black tie event has been held in the borough.
Hosted by ITV’s Paul Crone, the glitzy awards evening saw 270 people in attendance at the town hall, before an after party

Councillor John Blun- celebrating their dell said: “It was great to achievements. The awards evening was again a great success and congratulations go to all the winners.
“I would also like to say well done to those shortlisted as it is not easy getting here! The level of entries was again very high and I know the judges found it hard to choose the winners.
“We should be very proud of all the finalists – they have shown that Rochdale is most definitely open for business.”
Ben Boothman, owner of the Flying Horse and the soon-to-open Bombay Brew, was crowned Business Person of the Year, with Wireless CCTV Ltd winning Business of the Year (with a turnover of over £5 million).
There were also prizes for best new business, best apprentice and employee of the year.
Businesses submit their entries online for being judged by an independent panel, which this year included managers from
Barclays. A range of companies sponsor the event, including Rochdale Riverside developers Willmott Dixon and local firms
Jackson, Jackson & Sons and Click 24. Organisers said they are always on the lookout for more sponsors, and can be reached at info@rochdalebusinessawards.co.uk ahead of next year’s event.
