Prop Fowden returns to the Hornets fold
ROCHDALE Hornets have announced the signing of Luke Fowden.
Fowden played for the club during the 2016 season having previously played for Rochdale Mayfield.
The prop joined rugby union side Fylde at the age of 21 having also come through the academy at Salford Red Devils where he spent a total of five years.
He has also spent a period on loan at fellow League One club Hunslet having made his Hornets debut against Tolouse Olympique in 2016.
Hornets have their first pre-season friendly date locked in as they host Championship boys, Swinton Lions, at the Crown Oil Arena at 3pm on January 19.
It’s the first fixture of an exciting pre-season period confirmed that will provide a stern test for Matt Calland’s side ahead of the season kicking off in February.
CEO Steve Kerr said: “As always we’re looking forward to welcoming our friends from Swinton to the Crown Oil Arena.
“The fixture provided three thrillers last year so supporters will know to expect and exciting game as both teams prepare for their respective campaigns.”
Ticket prices are yet to be confirmed but will be communicated to members and supporters as soon as possible.
