Striker Tyler bringing in unique traits
BRIAN Barry-Murphy is pleased to have added “something unique” to his squad with the signing of Tyler Smith.
The forward has joined Dale on loan from Premier League Sheffield United until the end of the season, and the Dale boss is happy to have him on board.
“With Tyler’s addition, we feel that we’re consistently trying to add people to the squad who can provide us with something different,” said Barry-Murphy.
“We’re very pleased with what we have in our squad in terms of what we have already, but Tyler brings us something unique, which is why we’re so happy to have him on board.
“It’s satisfying to know that Sheffield United are very happy to continue to build a relationship with us. They know that we’ve monitored Tyler for a very long time. We’ve been aware of him since the Rhys Norrington-Davies connection at Barrow.
“We weren’t able to add Tyler in the summer and we didn’t think we would able to this month, so the fact that it has materialised shows that we jumped at the chance to make it happen.
“The fact that Sheffield United trust us to develop him, along the same lines as Rhys, is great for both parties.
“Tyler is still following a return to play from injury protocol via Sheffield United, so he’ll join up with us on Monday after the weekend’s game at Wycombe Wanderers.”
A new date for the fans’ forum, originally due to be held on Monday 13th January, has now been confirmed.
The event, held in conjunction with the Dale Trust, will take place on Monday 17th February in the 1907 Lounge at the Crown Oil Arena.
The format of the evening will vary from the usual, with the Board of Directors making a presentation to supporters which will outline the future of the Club, as well as covering recent events and where we currently stand in the present.
There will, of course, be the usual opportunity for questions from supporters following the presentation.
Entry is free of charge to all supporters, with proceedings getting underway at 7pm.
The forum will be filmed by the Club’s media team on the night and will be available to watch on iFollow freeview from the following morning.
