Country rockers heading for Nashville in authentic search
ROCHDALE band Between the Vines have just released their latest single, Driftwood.
Between The Vines play Country rock/ Southern rock and are Rebecca Whitehead on acoustic guitar and vocals, Kev Whitehead on drums and percussion, Mark Stelfox on electric guitars and backing vocals and Craig Fletcher on bass and backing vocals.
Wife and husband Rebecca and Kev have quite a track record.
Rebecca is a wellestablished singer songwriter who performs regularly as a solo artist and has a couple of albums to her name.
Kev is a much-indemand drummer who also plays with rock heavyweights DARE and Barclay James Harvest.
Driftwood is the first single to be released from upcoming album Ain’t Country Enough, which the band hope to release by the end of the year.
Rebecca said: “The song was recorded at Lisa Stansfield’s Gracieland studio in Rochdale and features the fantastic Sarah Jory on pedal steel guitar.
“We are excited about the new single and the official video that goes with it. The video was filmed at the iconic Vicolo Del Vino in Rochdale, with all our friends and Family.”
Sarah Jory began to learn to play musical instruments at the age of five, when she obtained her first steel guitar.
Her first album, Sarah’s Steel Line, which she recorded with the band Poacher, was released by Crow Records in 1980, when she was eleven years old.
Sarah played with the Van Morrison band during 2006 and 2009 and performed on his albums Keep It Simple and Astral Weeks Live at the Hollywood Bowl and on the DVD Astral Weeks Live at the Hollywood Bowl: The Concert Film.
Not surprisingly her musical ability, style and versatility also mean she is continually in demand as a session player.
Between the Vines, last year’s Battle of the Bands winners, performed at the 2019 Feel Good festival, on the main stage, in the town hall square, supporting The Hoosiers and The Coral.
