Tigers earn charity stripes by helping disabled children

-

CHILDREN’S charity Barnardo’s has praised the generosity of a local football club for donating £800 to the families of disabled children it supports.

Funds donated by Rochdale Sacred Heart Tigers Football Club have been used to buy and deliver resources such as toys, food and other essential items for families in the borough who have children with individual needs.

The football club went out to members with a request to support a charity by still paying their subs, with the money being donated during lockdown.

Paul Jackson from The Sacred Heart Tigers Football Club, said: “We are a relatively new club that has grown considerably in a short space of time.

“When lockdown was introduced we were devastated that the children could not continue with their training.

“But we realised that there would be many
