‘Breast implants were ruining my health’ says footballer’s wife

-

AT the age of 21, beauty entrepreneur Chantelle Thompson decided to have breast implants after being inspired by the likes of former glamour model Katie Price and Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson.

But in January the wife of former Rochdale Football Club footballer Joe Thompson went under the knife again to have them removed because she believed they were having a detrimental effect on her health.

Chantelle, 33, suffered memory loss and fatigue and linked the symptoms with her implants after seeing a video raising awareness of Breast Implant Illness posted by former The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Leanne Brown.

She told us that within weeks of having them taken out she felt like a ‘completely different person.’

“I feel like I’m back to the old me,” she said.

“I was suffering shortness of breath, brain fog, problems with my memory and my attention span was non-existent. I would say ‘I just can’t focus.’”

Over the past year Chantelle, who went from a B cup to a DD, says her memory declined to the point that she struggled to remember a four-digit PIN number.

She was all the more determined to have them removed after her husband’s health battles.

Joe, 31, has twice beaten cancer after being diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma while playing for Tranmere in 2013.

“Every day your body is trying to fight this foreign body,” she explained.

“With Joe having lymphoma I felt selfish after what we’ve been through as a family.”

After sharing her story on Instagram Chantelle has been flooded with messages from others considering implants or who have been through a similar experience.

“My inbox has been chocka with girls saying ‘thanks very much for sharing,” she said.

“I was 21 when I had them done and it was very much at the peak of Pamela Anderson and Jordan when big boobs were very fashionable at the time.”

Chantelle has teamed up with Leanne, the wife of former Manchester United footballer Wes Brown, to host a live chat on Instagram and Facebook about Breast Implant Illness and ‘explanting.’

Leanne, 43, who left the ITVBe reality show The Real Housewives of Cheshire in 2018, had her implants removed last year after 16 years.

Opening up to her followers Chantelle explained: “After researching how dangerous implants are and how little is known about the true impact that having implants has on your mind and your body I just knew I needed to have them removed!

“I was suffering from a long list of side effects of Breast Implant Illness such as shortness of breath, really really bad brain fog, fatigue the list goes on and never would I have known these symptoms were linked to my implants if it wasn’t for seeing my friend @mrs_ leanne_brown video.

“After having my implants in for over 11 years, removing them has been the best thing I have ever done!

“Honestly the transformation is huge and I love my new boobs more than ever!”

She added: “The days of the ‘Jordan’ and ‘Pamela’ boobs are gone!

“It’s time to wake up and put your health first!”
