Moped rider fighting for life after road crash
A TEENAGE moped rider is fighting for life following a collision involving a car in Rochdale.
The smash took place on Oldham Road just after 7pm last Thursday (June 25).
A black Ford Kuga was travelling north along the road when it stopped to turn right into a service station.
Police said while the car was waiting to turn, an overtaking green GenMoto XGJ motorcycle collided with the vehicle.
Paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service were called to the scene and treated the moped rider.
The 17-year-old was then taken to Royal Oldham Hospital suffering with life-threatening injuries.
A section of Oldham Road, between Gilbrook Way and Shaw Road, was closed for several hours.
Officers could be seen carrying out investigative work behind a cordon.
Police are appealing for information following the collision.
No arrests have been made.
