Call to clean up park

-

VOLUNTEERS are being called upon to help out with the annual clear-up of a Norden park.

The Friends of Taylor Park, on Bagslate Moor Road, will be holding its annual cutback and tidy-up of the park on Sunday, July 19, from 10am, in conjuction with Rochdale In Bloom and Rochdale Borough Council.

The group is promising tea, coffee and fruit teacakes to all volunteers who are able to spare any time. The day’s work will involve weeding and tidying up the park’s overall landscape, with Rochdale In Bloom to supply petrol hedge cutters to bring some of the park’s more obstinate hedges and bushes to a neat shape.

The Friends of the park have also announced that it is due to receive three new planters, to be installed by building contractors H Bell & Sons. Any residents interested in volunteering or in need of information should contact Clive Entwistle on 01706 657680, or Paul Ellison on 07522 398784.
