BBM’s boys out to close gap on Gills

-

IN the early afternoon kick-off, Rochdale play host to a Gillingham side beaten in midweek on home soil by Accrington Stanley.

That result left the Gills in 13th place, four points above Dale.

The home side will be out to follow up Tuesday’s eyecatching 5-0 victory at Wigan with another positive result.

Stanley lost to Wigan last weekend but bounced back with that midweek win against the Gills and they take on Blackpool, who are in a good vein of form themselves recently with only one loss in their last five matches.

A result here ahead of the busy Christmas schedule could see Stanley push for the play-off places into early 2021.

Wigan’s resurgance took a heavy blow with that loss against Dale and they will be looking to bounce back when they make the trip to Fleetwood Town.

In to League Two and Ian Evatt’s side, Bolton Wanderers will be looking to get back to winning ways as soon as possible after another slump in results over recent weeks.

They host a Tranmere Rovers side managed by former Trotters and Dale chief Keith Hill, whose start at Prenton Park has coinceded with a downturn in form.

Tranmere could be the perfect opposition for Bolton to get themselves back to winning ways ahead of the Christmas schedule.

Playoff hopefuls Salford City will be aiming to get an easy victory over newlypromoted Harrogate Town in this weekend’s match.

Oldham Athletic are the in-form Greater Manchester team in League Two at present. They travel to a Newport County side who currently sit on top of the League Two table.
