The public are urged to recycle their festive trees
ROCHDALE Borough Council are encouraging people to recycle their Christmas trees.
Don’t let your tree go to waste - the council can collect your tree and turn it into compost.
All you need to do is put your tree into your brown bin, by removing its base and all decorations, and putting the base in your dark green bin.
Then chop it up and put it in your brown recycling bin.
The trunk needs to be thinner than your wrist, and your bin lid needs to close.
Christmas tree recycling points are open after Christmas, with collections taking place from Monday, 4 January 2021 to Saturday, 9 January 2021.
