ROCHDALIANS are being given an amazing opportunity to tuck into a brand new set of online courses – dubbed the Ultimate Lockdown Toolkit.

Hopwood Hall College and University Centre has debuted this exciting mix of virtual classes as a gift for residents.

The courses are free to come subject to eligibility criteria.

The taster sessions are designed by expert tutors who have years of experience teaching at the college’s two campuses in Middleton and Rochdale.

These skilled professionals have now turned their attention to the online world – creating these new courses to inform and entertain people over the coming months.

The sessions have been purposely crafted to offer handy bitesize information that can be consumed easily within short timeframes and from the comfort of your own home.

Those who take part will also find a much-needed regional twist to the syllabus, which ensures it meets the needs of the community during lockdown and beyond.

There’s potential for thousands of people to take advantage of this offer as the specially-made classes are available for everyone aged 19 and over across Greater Manchester.

This means that there’s something for everyone – from young adults and university graduates to empty nesters and retirees.

Those mums and dads who are currently homeschooling will be thrilled to learn that there are also many brilliant courses which they can fit in around their family lives.

The subjects to choose from are varied, with sessions on topics such as DIY, cookery, fitness, beauty, entrepreneurship and general life skills.

This includes courses like ‘Preparing Your Car For The MOT Test’, ‘Nutrition Nuggets For Lockdown Wellbeing’, ‘Introduction To Hairstyling’, and ‘Grow A Garden From Your Kitchen’.

Julia Heap, principal and CEO of Hopwood Hall College, said: “We are truly delighted to offer this gift to the people of Greater Manchester. These courses are perfect for your mind, body and soul – no matter your age or where you’re from in Greater Manchester.

“We’re simply thrilled to give people the opportunity to spread their wings, learn fabulous new skills and make the best use of their spare time over the coming months.”

The Ultimate Lockdown Toolkit can be accessed online, with each person eligible to complete five sessions of their own choosing.
