Town bids to put on fright night funtime

THIS Halloween, Rochdale Town Centre will be taken over by an assortment of ghoulish celebratio­ns - offering the perfect chance for little and big kids everywhere to get in on the spooky October action in 2021.

A scarily unique experience for absolutely everyone brave enough to get into the Halloween spirit!

Paul Ambrose, the Business Improvemen­t District Manager said: “The BID is delighted to be hosting and promoting so many Halloween activates and events. This is a great opportunit­y for the BID team to work with local business and other partner organisati­ons to hep promote everything that the town centre has to offer.”

Below, is a list of the events taking place in Rochdale, hosted by BID, this October: ●●

MAGICIAN Dan Rhodes Meet and greet event at Puttstars today (Saturday).

Talented Rochdale magician, Dan Rhodes, will be holding a meet and greet event at Puttstars between 11am and midday.

Dan, who recently became the UK’S fastest growing Youtuber has over 5 million subscriber­s, plus another 7 million fans on Tik Tok. ●●

SPOOKY face painting Rochdale Riverside

Add further fun to your Halloween fun by popping down to Rochdale Riverside today to have your face painted by spectacula­r face painter Belinda Belinda will provide dazzling face painting designs for your children (or big kids!), from scary monsters, super heroes and princesses. ●●

HALLOWEEN giant globe at Rochdale Riverside.

A spectacula­r Halloween giant globe will be at Riverside today between 11am and 3pm. This is a fun opportunit­y to take photograph­s of friends and family in a large inflatable Halloween themed globe. Between noon and 2pm the globe will be haunted by two performers. ●●

MEDICINE Tap - Children’s Spooky Afternoon tea October 26 to October 31 between 12pm and 4pm.

Bring your little ghouls for an afternoon tea treat at the Medicine Tap this Halloween. The spooky selection includes sandwiches, a choice of a soft drink, and a ghostly cakes. Booking is essential and the cost per child is £9.95. ●●

FLYING Horse Hotel - Day of the Dead with music from ‘Juan Direction’ and food from Mama chillies

The Day of the Dead is coming to the Flying Horse for this year’s Halloween special. Get your spookiest costume out and prepare for a screamer of a night with music from Juan Direction who will be performing Mexican covers of popular American hits. The ever popular Mama Chillies will be taking over the kitchen and offering New York style pizza & burrito madness. Booking advised ●●

COLIN Meredith’s Ghost Walk

Join the Rochdale Ghost Walk to learn more about the town’s ghostly hauntings and supernatur­al past as you take a stroll along the central streets and hidden corners.

Led by Coin Meredith, the walking tour passes many places of interest and attraction­s along the way. Those wishing to join in the fun are required to meet up at The Baum Pub.

This Halloween Colin is offering two walks: October 30 at 7.30pm. This walk is aimed at families and children are encouraged to come in a scary costume: prizes will be offered to those wearing the best costumes. October 31 at 8pm. Booking is not required although it is recommende­d that you arrive at least 5 to 10 minutes before the departure time. Admission is £5pp.

HOOCHI Koochi Three Halloween nights are coming to one of Rochdale’s newest and exciting venues:

Friday, October 29 the Country Rats will be performing blues, funk, hiphop and rock followed by Tokeo who are afive piece punk, rock and rap band.

Saturday, October 30 is the Halloween Special 80’s and 90’s pop party.

Sunday, October 31.will see the return of the Sunday Soul Club ●●

HALLOWEEN Special The Empire

The legendary Halloween Party at The Empire is back on Saturday, October 30. The venue will be transforme­d into a into a place of spooktacul­ar delights and live DJS will keep you dancing the nigh away.

Make sure you dress up in your scariest outfit and prepare yourself for a spookily good night. Prizes will be offered to the best dressed. ●●

A great event for little ones (and big kids) is the Halloween trail at Touchstone­s.
