ADM PREMIER NEW BRIGHTON ............. 7 LITTLEBOROUGH ......... 29

IT was the first time playing New Brighton and a new trip for Boro – thoughtfully, because of the long journey, Boro hired a coach for the afternoon.

Boro’s travelling supporters were well received and well entertained by their host.

Boro immediately took charge and after only two minutes play with good rugby they occupied the opposition 10 metres area.

A great pass by captain Chris Park found winger Liam Lloyd for him to score the game’s opening try, no conversion.

Boro’s pack were pressurising their opposition, with stand off Jack Whittles making further in roads to the host half with a good kick to touch.

This was soon followed with a great attacking run by Boro’s Chris Roberts to score a second try, which he himself converted, terrific play by Boro.

New Brighton started to get more involved and they took over the game for the remainder of the first half but could not break through Boro’s great defence and at half time the visitors led 12-0.

After the break, a great attacking wing run by Mathew Goldthorpe put Boro on the front foot, but once again New Brighton took over for a period.

During this period Boro had another try disallowed by the referee but this was soon followed with a great wing run from Goldthorpe who scored Boro’s third try, no conversion.

New Brighton were given a penalty award by the referee but failed in an attempt to convert.

The game then continued with Boro running well with ball in hand and low and behold a further try followed, scored by stand off Whittles, no conversion.

Further attacking play by Boro resulted in a converted try, scored by young winger Tom Laidler.

Then Boro back in defence again and this time New Brighton did break through for their only score of a converted try, resulting in the final score of 7- 29.

The result made it four wins on the trot for Boro with three consecutive home fixtures to follow.
