Top fighter Danyal takes five – and the English title
A13-YEAR-OLD was crowned with the English championship title after winning all five of his one-minute rounds against his opponent.
Danyal Farooq has been named the English champion for his category after winning the S3 Junior Fight League for Thai boxing.
The Oulder Hill pupil has trained at Impact Gym since he was seven under Jaman Chowdhury who is qualified as KHAN 13 (kru yai - senior teacher) and a fully qualified ABA Coach as well as the owner of the Bunyan Street gym.
Jaman said: “I feel very proud of Danny because he is focused and trains really hard.
“He has so much dedication and passion for the sport and I know he will do well in the future.
“He has a very strong personality and never gives up, is always looking to improve and achieve higher goals.”
There were 40 fights at different weight categories and Danyal was fight 34 at the 8 Limbs Muay Thai Academy on Sunday, June 12.

Thai and strengthen conditioning training seven days a week, three to five hours a day after school.
The talented competitor also won the IMTF Area Championship two weeks prior to the S3 Junior Fight League.
Danyal’s mother, Amreen Farooq, said: “I feel really proud of him and he says he wants to be a professional fighter and to own his own gym to help the community like how this gym helped him.
“He wants to be a good role model and although he fights many people at his school don’t know this as he wants to stay humble about it.
“The sport keeps him focused and his confidence has bounced back since he began and he is getting great results in school.”
S3 Fight League is a fight promotion promoting Muay Thai and K1 fights within the UK.
Jaman is looking for members of the community to sponsor Danyal for his next fights at Metrodome Arena in September and the Max Muay Thai Show in Oldham.
Funds will be used to cover Danyal’s training and travelling costs.
