Olympic Gymnasts shine in Paris event
MEMBERS of Rochdale Olympic Gymnastics Club travelled to Penketh Gymnastics Club for the first time to participate in the 2024 Paris Comes to Penketh Invitational Championships.
The young gymnasts, 13 in all, contested different levels of competition and came home with a huge haul of well deserved rewards.
At the end of the day’s proceedings the girls earned themselves 15 Awards and 48 Medal Positions with five gymnasts lifting Trophies in their respective categories as Maisie Pringle, Lois Eddy, Lola Whittaker, Scarlett Hanley and Millie Nuttall were all crowned Overall Champions.
TIN AGED 11 – Lois Eddy 1st Vault, 1st Bars, 1st Beam, 1st Floor, 1st Overall, Vault Award, Bars Award.
Tatiana Truncaite 2nd Vault, 2nd Bars, 2nd Beam, 3rd Floor, 2nd Overall, Bars Award.
TIN AGED OVER 12 – Maisie Pringle 1st Vault, 1st Beam, 1st Floor, 1st Overall, Vault Award.
Mahira Arien 2nd Vault, 2nd Bars, 3rd Beam, 2nd Floor, 2nd Overall.
ZINC AGED 12 – Lola Whittaker 3rd Vault, 1st Bars, 1st Beam, 1st Floor, 1st Overall, Beam Award, Artistry Award.
Tais Amorim 2nd Bars, 1st Beam, 1st Floor, 2nd Overall, Beam Award, Artistry Award, Number Award.
ZINC AGED OVER 13 – Scarlett Hanley 2nd Bars, 1st Beam, 1st Floor, 1st Overall, Vault Award, Beam Award.
Edie Ogden 2nd Vault, 5th Overall Ellie-mae Hill 3rd Vault, 6th Overall
COPPER AGED OVER 14 – Millie Nuttall 1st Vault, 1st Beam, 1st Floor, 1st Overall, Beam Award.
Olivia-may Hibbert 2nd Bars, 3rd Floor, 3rd Overall, Vault Award.
Daisy Whittaker 3rd Vault, 2nd Beam 2nd Floor, 5th Overall.
The girls are now back in the gym working hard towards their next event which will see them travel to Diamonds Gymnastics Club in Halifax in June.
