Annual dance show caps off youngsters’ Maltese adventure

-

A GROUP of dancers from Bacup took their skills to Malta to perform a dance show with their twin school.

Pupils from Dansworks Dance Academy, based in the Pioneer Building, have enjoyed a link with Maltese school Dance College Studios in Sliema since 2013. It was straight into the deep end for the ten dancers as they launched into a dress rehearsal within half an hour of arriving on their six-day trip.

Principal Karen Roe said: “We left at 2am and when we arrived the dancers - nine girls and one boy aged 12 to 15, had about half an hour to unpack before doing a full dress rehearsal.

“They were so excited and it will be good on their CVs. It was a great cultural exchange too and they’ve made great friends they keep in touch with on Facebook.”
