School leavers toast their primary years
WATER Primary School leavers celebrated their years at the school in style with a series of fun events.
The celebrations began with an awards event held at Burnley Football Club where children were presented with a selection of ‘Oscars’.

School administrator Ann Hartley said: “Many tears were shed when the children said goodbye. They’ve been great and will be missed. We wish them all the best for the future.”
School governor and parent Michaela Hoare made a cake for all those going off to secondary school and the lucky leavers also enjoyed a special lunch at Nino’s Italian Restaurant and Bar at the Fighting Cocks Inn in Cliviger.
There was then a Leavers assembly where children received awards for sports, creative writing and art. There were also awards for Triumph through Perseverance and Contribution to School Life, as well as Young Leader, Progress, Achievement and Class awards and pupils sang the song ‘You’ve got a friend’. ●● The Rossendale Players performing one of their plays from last season: ‘Breezeblock Park’
