Haslingden booked their place in the final after victories over Ramsbottom, Lowerhouse and Church. Burnley’s route to the last two saw them overcome Bacup, Nelson and Enfield.

The final takes place on Sunday, making it a busy weekend for Haslingden as they also host Nelson in the Lancashire League on

Levi Wolfenden top scored with 38 before he was dismissed, while Bilal Abbas and Josh Scully each finished unbeaten on 26 as Church reached their total in just 22 overs for an eight-wicket win.

Rawtenstal­l are jointsecon­d bottom in the table after their defeat, with four wins from their 18 matches.

They dropped down the Saturday. Nelson are fourth in the table and have won eight of their 18 league matches during the season so far.

Top of the table Ramsbottom will look to keep up their unbeaten streak when they travel to eighth placed Colne.

Rawtenstal­l host fellow strugglers Enfield, knowing a victory would see them leapfrog their opponents in the table.

Bottom side Bacup will look to end their poor run of form when they travel to 11th placed Accrington. after that, but it was the extras that damaged Haslingden. A staggering 22 wides were bowled, handing Accrington 36 runs in extras as they finished on 127 all out after 48 overs.

Naeem finished with extremely impressive figures of 6-30, while Lee Ingham also chipped in with 3-30.

Haslingden’s innings began with Phil Hayes dismissed for a duck, but fellow opener Graham Knowles but his side in a decent position as he scored 44.

Naeem (15), Sean Hunsley (10) and Ingham (10) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures, and it looked like the game would go down to the wire. Haslingden needed 13 runs from 11 balls when their final wicket fell. The loss for Haslingden leaves them seventh in the division. ●● Cameron Holder
