Trade debates business choices after our EU exit

A HASLINGDEN business joined with the East Lancashire Chamber of Trade to discuss the business landscape after the outcome of the EU referendum.

Helen Cowley, director of tax for Haslingden accountanc­y firm Cassons, based on St Crispin Way, led a debate with Mandy Lockett, internatio­nal business director of the Chamber of Commerce, on the potential consequenc­es and opportunit­ies post EU referendum.

They were speaking at the Internatio­nal Trade Club’s breakfast meeting which was attended by business leaders from across the region.

Helen summarised the possible tax implicatio­ns of the UK’s departure and discussed some of the existing trade models used by other European countries.

The next Internatio­nal Trade Club breakfast meeting will take place at the Mercure Dunkenhalg­h Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors on Thursday, October 6. The event starts at 8am and includes breakfast.

One of the guest speakers will be from the Internatio­nal Chambers of Commerce, which represents business at all major internatio­nal summits.
