WHAT you’ve been saying on our Facebook page:

HELMSHORE Mills Textile Museum to close in September (‘Mill museum will shut next month’, August 26)

Pam Brown: Let’s hope for someone to take over the mill as a museum, this was our past and our grandchildren should be allowed to have an opportunity to learn of their heritage, myself and me children and grandchildren have had many visits there.

Graham Wilkinson: Sad news but it is heartening to read discussions with interested parties are ongoing and maintenance plans are being put in place to preserve them.

Christine Hodgson: My dad Alan Birkett spent many years here working long hours and so proud to be part of floor management.

FEARS as disabled children’s therapy centre is set to move out of borough (‘ Disabled children ‘ left in lurch’ by closure of children’s centre’, August 26)

Becky Lord: Cannot justify moving this out of Haslingden, these children need this so much. Lots of buildings are empty with council selling properties I bet the land either gets sold or becomes a car park. Disgusting council should not mess with our children and especially our disabled children.

Kazza King: This is disgusting. Stepping Stones are amazing. My son went there until he passed away. I’ve done fundraising in the past for them, surely there must be other premises to locate to.

Tony Mark: Such a shame. Money could have been found to bring the building up to standard or alternative premises could have been found locally.

Francesca Caroline Dean: I can’t believe this!! This was the first place I went to, without their help I wouldn’t be here today.
