Nursery praised with ‘good’ rating in Ofsted inspection
A CRAWSHAWBOOTH nursery has won praise from education watchdog Ofsted.
Inspectors graded Bright Futures Day Nursery on Goodshaw Avenue, as ‘good’, the second highest available rating.
Personal development, behaviour and welfare were ranked as the top score – ‘outstanding’.
Good ratings were given for leadership and management, the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, and outcomes for children.
Inspector Janet Singleton visited the nursery, which caters for two to four-year-olds, last month. Her report, published on September 24, praised the manager’s commitment to delivering continuous improvement, saying that ‘she invests in her staff and has comprehensive supervision and training programmes in place.’
She said children are ‘highly secure with staff’ and ‘form superb relationships which help children be the best they can be’. The inspector also praised the teaching at the nursery and partnerships between staff and parents.
She said: “Staff help children make consistently good progress across all areas of learning. They sensitively support children, question skilfully and competently introduce concepts such as mathematics, letters and sounds. Parents are actively involved in their own child’s development.
“Parents’ wishes and routines from home are followed and implemented well into care practices.” Children were also praised for being ‘highly independent and confident’, with ‘a positive sense of self and express their views about the world and their feelings’.
She added: “Children are exceptionally happy, enjoying and contributing to their time at nursery.”
The nursery did not respond to a request for a comment.
