REMEMBRANCE EVENTS

A service will be held at Rakefoot Methodist Church in Crawshawbooth at 10am followed by an act of remembrance at the war memorial at 11am. In Whitworth the parade will assemble at 10.20am at corner of Tong Lane and Market Street to the Cenotaph. In Ramsbottom, the Legion will meet at Central Street at 10.30am and march from 10.50am down to the cenotaph opposite St Paul’s Church on Bridge Street. There will be a two-minute silence, wreath laying and playing of the Last Post from 11am, followed by a service in the church. Cowpe Sunday School will be hosting a service at 10.45am followed by an act of remembrance at the war memorial. There will be a service at 12.30pm at Trickett’s Memorial Gardens, Waterfoot. A service will be held at the war memorial in Greenfield Gardens, Haslingden at 1pm followed by a parade to Veterans in Communities for refreshments. Rawtenstall’s service will begin at 2.25pm at the town square for a parade to the cenotaph for a service, and a parade back to the town square followed by refreshments at the cricket club. The Bacup Remembrance commemorations will begin at 2.30pm with a parade from the fire station to the cenotaph for a service. The parade will then proceed to the Conservative Club.

CYCLISTS will mark Remembrance Sunday by riding from The Drop Off Cafe, Edenfield to Whittles Pike Cross. Tickets £5. All are welcome after the ride. All profits to the Royal British Legion.
