ROSSENDALE REVEALED

- BARRY HYDE

THIS week Barry Hyde, of the Promoting Rossendale Partnership Board, will be looking at a hidden gem that makes Rossendale and its community distinctive.

Since 1856, St Mary’s Chambers has been a prominent part of the Rawtenstall skyline. Formerly a Methodist Church, the building has been used for many things including an air raid assembly point during WW2 and a meeting place of the local old age pensioner association, until the building fell into disrepair.

At this point, B&E Boys came to the rescue, lovingly restoring the building and maintaining all its fine external features.

They created a purposebuilt conference and banqueting suite, together with modern office facilities used by leading local businesses.

The work of B&E Boys has resulted in an aesthetically fine building, and a great facility accessible by the neighbouring community. Over recent times, St Mary’s Chambers found itself without a leaseholder, and as a consequence this premier Valley venue was sadly under-used.

Earlier this year, business woman Maria Teoli, owner of Capelli Design, Perfect Nails and also a qualified chef, took over the lease, bringing her experience, commitment and exciting plans for the Chambers’ future.

Maria is offering this prestigious venue for a range of functions, combining the highest quality facilities in a truly amazing environment. St Mary’s Chambers are catering for weddings, civil partnerships, conferences, Christenings, funerals, corporate events, training days, private parties and much more.

They have a variety of menus and wines to suit all budgets and all dietary requirements, and even offer an event organising service.

Since the re-launch, Maria has already had a number of extremely satisfied clients.
