It’s like spring has gone back to bed for week or two

LAST week, the sun was in the sky, said sky was blue and daffodils almost began to bloom.

Not exactly Wordsworth, I know, but it felt like spring was on the way.

What on earth has happened since?

The weekend’s weather was truly awful, and I know many people were nervously viewing local rivers, worried about the prospect of flooding again.

With roads streaming, drains overflowing and verges and fields utterly sodden, it’s a reminder of just how at the mercy the area is from the rain when it has nowhere to go.

And then warnings of snow!

It’s like spring popped it’s head round the corner and decided to go back to bed for a week or two.

The fact flooding was avoided in the main is hopefully testament that the lessons from previous floods have been learned and the action taken as a result has made a difference.

Here’s hoping spring is just round the corner!
