TAKE DOWN OLD BUILDING

RE the e-mail from Sheila Goodwin in the 5th of March edition, I wholly agree with Sheila.

My husband and I have discussed this several times recently. Why don’t they take down the old Woolworths building?

This is an eyesore and what is it going to look next to the new Electricity Showroom? This would make a great deal of difference to the traffic using Lanehead Lane.

When the brewery wagons are at the pub at the bottom there is no way even pedestrians can get through let alone cars.

Also a number of cars have skidded into the building when the weather is bad.

It would make it easier for traffic coming down the lane to get into the centre and would make room for a much needed small car park.

The bus stop is not now in use, so that would not be an excuse. An old Laneheader, name and address supplied
