Corrie’s Bill hits the campaign trail
CORRIE legend Bill Roache hit the campaign trail in the Valley with the Conservative Party candidate for the town, Kevin Horkin.
The soap star, and former Haslingden resident, has been a friend of Mr Horkin’s for some time.
They were pictured outside the town’s Dearden Tea Rooms.
Mr Horkin said: “I’ve known William Roache for the best part of 26 years. I used to work on Coronation Street as an agent - I used to book all the animals for the show.
“Many people were taken aback by having a TV legend in their town.”
Other candidates standing in the Hyndburn seat - which covers Haslingden - at the general election on June 8 are Janet Brown, UKIP; Graham Jones, Labour; and Les Jones, Liberal Democrats.
