The priceless role of everyday heroes

-

MORE than 60 ambulances were called to the Manchester Arena on Monday night as it became clear what the emergency services had to deal with.

Hundreds of police officers too were dispatched to the scene not knowing what they would find or what the dangers might be

That’s police officers and paramedics we see every day, doing day-today things suddenly being sent to the scene of a major emergency where someone has clearly been determined to do harm to others.

Of course, these everyday heroes will insist they. are nothing of the sort, and that they were just doing their jobs.

But if ever there was an example of the priceless role the emergency services play in our lives, it’s seeing them in action on Monday night.
