Can you solve a puzzle?

-

AMATEUR sleuths will be able to test their powers of deduction at The Civic Arts Centre and Theatre in Oswaldtwistle this summer.

On July 22, game makers Casefile will stage an immersive game experience for would-be adventurers and detectives.

The streets of Oswaldtwistle will become a life-sized game board for Casefile: The Mystery of the Star-Eaters, and players will take on the role of ‘consulting detective’.

They will follow clues, question witnesses and solve puzzles in the game devised by graphic designer Stephen Blackwell.

The game is intended for teams of two to six and the main investigation will take two to three hours.

The event will run throughout the day, so players can start and stop when they choose.

There will be free entry for under-12s, as well as a dedicated children’s mini mystery game running alongside the main challenge.

Gayle Knight, creative director of The Civic, said: “Finding fun and different ways to spend the day with friends and family can be a challenge.

“Casefile: The Mystery of the Star-Eaters makes a real change from mooching around the shops or sitting in the cinema, although there’s nothing to stop you from taking a break from relaxing and enjoying the town too.

“I can’t wait to see Oswaldtwistle transformed into a life-sized ‘whodunit’ and it’s a fantastic opportunity for local actors and volunteers to get involved.”

Tickets cost £12 for a team of up to six. To buy tickets in advance, visit www. civicartscentre.co.uk.
